Greek President arrives in Romania for two-day official visit
The Greek President Karolos Papoulias is currently in a two-day official visit to Romania at the invitation of the Romanian President, Traian Basescu.
The Romanian President said, after a talk with the Greek President Karolos, the seven Greek banks on the Romanian market are operating "properly", for which he is thankful.
The Greek President will meet the Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc and Romanian Patriarch Daniel on Tuesday. He will attend an economic forum on Wednesday and will have meetings with the Senate Chairman Mircea Geoana and the Chamber of Deputies Speaker Roberta Anastase.
The Romanian President said last week in Brussels that no money from the Structural Funds dedicated to Romania or to other countries will be directed to Greece.
A strike was announced in Greece on Tuesday and Wednesday, with unionists protesting against a 2012-2015 austerity program, which is currently debated by the Greek Parliament.
