The weight of green public acquisitions carried out by the Romanian public authorities reaches up to 20 percent of the total amount, which is 30 percentage points below the level requested by the European Union. The European Commission has established a 50 percent ratio which should go to green acquisitions for each member state.

The types of products and services referred to by the ecological public acquisitions (EPA) include constructions, food and catering services, transports, energy, office equipment, textiles, printing services, furniture, cleaning products/services or equipment used in the health sector.
