Greepeace activists protest at Chevron shale gas exploration site in Romania

A group of 25 Greepeace activists on Monday, July 7, started a protest in Romania, at Pungesti, where oil and gas company Chevron is currently exploring for shale gas.
Greenpeace activists from Romania, Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary chained themselves to the fences and asked Chevron to leave the country. Chevron said in a release they respect people’s right to express their opinion, but within the law.
The protest lasted for 15 hours, then the Police evacuated all activists, while media access was also forbidden on site.
