Groupama Romania underwrote premiums of EUR 72.6 million in the first six months of this year, down 10.8% compared to the same period in 2013, mainly due to the voluntary and temporary reduction on the segment of mandatory car insurance RCA, and on the segment of financial risks.

“The company ended the first half of the year with a satisfying consolidated result. In the first six months of this year, the company registered a profit of RON 8.8 million, compared to losses of RON 18.9 million registered in the first six months of the previous year,” reads a statement from the company.

The underwritten premiums on the general insurance segment recorded revenues of EUR 67.5 million, representing 94% of total premiums. Life insurances totaled some EUR 4.4 million, up 5.5% year-on-year.
