GTC buys two office buildings in downtown Bucharest

Real estate investment company Globe Trade Center (GTC) has bought the Premium Plaza and Premium Point office buildings in Bucharest from Austrian group Volksbank, according to sources familiar with the deal cited by local Ziarul Financiar.

Both office buildings are located close to the Victoriei Square and Romania’s Government headquarters. The transaction is estimated at some EUR 30-40 million.

Premium Plaza has a leasable surface of 8,600 sqm and is 86% occupied while Premium Point has 6,400 sqm of office space and is 74% leased. Some of their tenants include asset manager Franklin Templeton, media group Thomson Reuters, Autodesk, and HBO.

GTC also became the sole owner of the City Gate office project located at Bucharest’s Piata Presei Libere, earlier this year.

American investment group Lone Star controls 30% of GTC.
