Famous Gumball 3000 rally arrives in Romania for the first time
The 2016 edition of the famous Gumball 3000 rally will come to Romania for the first time since the event was launched, in 1999.
This year, the contestants drive from Dublin to Bucharest, with stops in several major European cities. The annual car rally officially began in Dublin on May 1 and, on May 6, it will arrive in Romania’s Sibiu, where the cars will make a two-hour stop, between 14:00 and 16:00.
The supercars will then continue their trip and cross the finish line in Bucharest on the same day, between 17:00 and 22:00, according to data on the rally’s official website. The next day, the cars will be displayed in front of the Parliament's Palace between 10:00 and 16:00. The program will then continue with a parade, scheduled to take place between 16:00 and 18:00.
Some of the superstars to come to Bucharest are David Hasselhoff, rapper Eve, and famous DJ Afrojack.
British entrepreneur Maximillion Cooper started Gumball 3000 in 1999 with the idea to combine cars, music, fashion, and entertainment. The rally brings together some of the most expensive and rare automobiles in the world. This year, the event also features an impressive Batmobile.
