Hacker group in Romania dismantled: USD 4.5 mln damage abroad
The Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) in Mehedinti county has dismantled a criminal group specialized in computer fraud.
Its members prejudiced by USD 4.5 million (EUR 4.1 mln) telecom and financial services companies and governmental servers from Australia and Columbia, reports local Digi24.
DIICOT officers made 11 searches in the Mehedinti, Dolj, Hunedoara, Buzau and Timis county, to dismantle the hackers. The group’s members have illegally obtained confidential banking information, according to DIICOT.
