Healthcare salary hike to cost Romania EUR 61 mln a year
The recently announced salary hike for employees in the state healthcare system will cost Romania some EUR 61 million a year, according to Finance Minister Ioana-Maria Petrescu.
All those healthcare employees who will not benefit from the minimum salary increase in 2015 will get an extra RON 100 (or some EUR 22.7) gross a month – some 300,000 people. Those who have salaries of RON 900 (some EUR 204) will benefit from the two-stage increase in minimum salary. This will result in an additional budget effort of some EUR 148 million, said the Minister.
