Heineken Romania GM Van Karnebeek promoted to regional head of CEE

Jan Derck van Karnebeek, the general manager of brewer Heineken in Romania will be promoted to the company's head of operations in Central and Eastern Europe, replacing the current regional director Nico Nusmeier. Van Karnebeek will take on the new position at the beginning of next year.

Beer producer Heineken's beer sales volume in Romania grew in the mid single-digits in the first half of this year, contributing to market share gains.

The company sells beer brands such as Golden Brau, Bucegi and Ciuc in Romania. From April, Heineken started to import another eight international brands from the group’s portfolio: Amstel, Birra Moretti, Krusovice, Foster’s, Murphy’s, Strongbow, Sol and Desperados.

The group owns four factories in Romania: at Miercurea Ciuc, Constanta, Craiova and Targu Mures and has 1,100 employees in the country.
