07 June 2011

The Heritage restaurant in Bucharest has been included among the Top 10 restaurants in Central and Eastern Europe recently awarded at the Dining Guide Food Show in Budapest, according to Balkan Travellers. Gourmet experts from ten CEE countries nominated their homeland’s best restaurants, then their suggestions were evaluated through a testing process by an international CEEfood jury.

Heritage re-opened at the beginning of April this year following an investment of EUR 0.5 million. The restaurant is owned by a group of investors represented by Ana Patriciu, the daughter of Romanian billionaire investor Dinu Patriciu, according to local media. The restaurant was initially opened in 2007, following an investment of EUR 1.5 million. The restaurant was closed down two times ever since.

The Heritage kitchen has a new chef, Juan Amador, one of the 50 chefs in the world to hold three Michelin stars. Amador received his first Michelin star at 25.

Ana Patriciu also runs the restaurant Madame Pogany in Bucharest. She is 28 and, according to media reports, she doesn't plan to get involved in other businesses for the time being.
