Hilton, one of the biggest hotel groups in the world, has officially opened its first Garden Inn hotel in Romania. The four-star hotel is located in Bucharest’s Old Town, next to Romania’s National Bank (BNR) headquarters.

“As the number of tourists in Romania has been growing each year, we are delighted to open the first Hilton Garden Inn in the very heart of Bucharest,” said Maria Dragulin, General Manager, Hilton Garden Inn Bucharest Old Town.

The hotel has 201 rooms, a business center, a fitness center, and meeting rooms. It is owned by the Lithuanian investors who also own the Europa Royale Hotel in Bucharest’s Old Town and operated by Hilton.

Hilton Garden Inn is the group’s medium budget brand. Hilton manages a portfolio of almost 5,100 hotels under 14 brands worldwide. In Romania, the group operates eight other hotels under different brands. The best-known is the five-star Athenee Palace Hilton hotel near the Romanian Athenaeum, which is owned by Romanian investor George Copos.
