Hilton opens its first hotel in famous Romanian medieval city Sighisoara
International hotel group Hilton will open its first hotel in Sighisoara, Romania’s best-known medieval city, located in Transylvania. The hotel will be operated under the DoubleTree by Hilton brand.
Sighisoara, also known as Dracula's city, is one of the most visited destinations in Transylvania. The town's historic center is on UNESCO's World Heritage List. Sighisoara also hosts one of the biggest medieval festivals in Europe.
The DooubleTree by Hilton hotel in Sighisoara is the former Hotel Cavaler, which has been recently renovated. The property has 74 rooms, two restaurants, and a multipurpose space for meetings or receptions. The hotel also has a spa and indoor swimming pool.
“We are delighted that we have opened this hotel that joins the other two DoubleTree by Hilton properties that we have in Romania,” said Dianna Vaughan, Senior Vice President & Global Head, DoubleTree by Hilton and Curio – A Collection by Hilton.
This is Hilton’s sixth hotel in Romania. The group operates the five-star hotel Athenee Palace Hilton in Bucharest, Hilton Sibiu, Hampton by Hilton Cluj-Napoca, Doubletree by Hilton Oradea, and Doubletree by Hilton Bucharest.
