Japanese car maker Honda ups sales in Romania by 34% in 2016
Honda Trading Romania, the representative of the Japanese brand Honda on the local market, announced that it sold 1,000 cars in Romania last year, the number being 34% higher than the one registered the year before.
The new passenger car sales in Romania went up by 17%, reaching 115,000 units, in 2016. Honda thus increased its market share in Romania to 1.1%.
More than half of the 1,000 cars sold last year were Civic 4D (Sedan) models – 530 units, followed by the CR-V SUV – 251 units, and Civic 5D (hatchback) – 117 units. Romanians also purchased models such as HR-V (60 units), Civic Tourer (break), and Jazz 15.
“Due to the new products launched in 2015, Honda registered sales increases on most markets in 2016,” said Ionut Lupu, commercial manager, Honda Trading Romania.
In Romania, the Honda authorized network of dealers and services currently consists of 19 locations in Bucuresti, Arad, Baia Mare, Braila, Brasov, Constanta, Craiova, Cluj-Napoca, Iasi, Pitesti, Ploiesti, Oradea, Sibiu, Targoviste, and Timisoara.
