Horror movie shot in Romania 'The Devil Inside' tops US box office
The horror feature-length movie 'The Devil Inside', which was shot in Bucharest, is on top of the box office in the US after its premiere last week-end. It cashed in USD 34.5 million during its first week-end. The movie, which also features Romanian actors Ionut Grama and Marius Florian – among others – had the highest week-end cashing in history for the first half of January.
'The Devil Inside' highlights the story of a woman who gets involved in unauthorized exorcisms while trying to discover what happened to her mother, who allegedly killed three people during her own exorcism.
The movie, produced by Paramount Studios, had a budget under USD 1 million and was shot in Bucharest, Rome and Vatican, in a documentary-like style. The movie will hit Romanian cinema screens in March.
