Hotel Transylvania animation proves a hit with Romanian audiences
Kids' animated film Hotel Transylvania has proved a hit in real life Transylvania according to US news service USA Today. The film, which features Count Dracula running a hotel for monsters, reached number one in Romanian box offices last week. Over 30,000 people went to see the film, which took around USD 171,000 in its first week. USA Today hails the take in Romania's “minor” market as “fang-tastic.”
American actor Adam Sandler voices the part of Dracula in the film, which has made over USD 119 million in the US, according to USA Today. The film's director Genndy Tartakovsky reportedly attended a premiere of the film in Romania and met the local actors who provided the voices for the dubbed Romanian version.
