The occupancy rate for hotels and guest houses at the Romanian seaside reached 100% last weekend, said Corina Martin, president of the Seaside Association.

Mamaia, a resort on the north of the Romanian seaside, has no rooms available for August. The south coast has been seeing significant growth, as the north side has no place left for development, said Martin, quoted by Mediafax.

It’s hard to estimate the real number of tourists, as many choose accommodation places that are not authorized. “Unofficially, we can speak about 150,000 tourists,” Martin added.

She expects the hotels and guest houses’ occupancy rate will stay at 100% on the seaside until the end of the summer season.
