Hourly cost of workforce grows in first quarter in Romania
The hourly cost of workforce in Romania grew by 1.82 percent in the first quarter of the year compared to the previous quarter and by 4.47 percent on the same period of 2009, according to the National Institute of Statistics. The higher increase compared to the previous quarter was recored in education, public administration, health care system and social assistance, while drops were recorded on the energy production and supply segment, manufacturing and the mining industry.
Compared to the same period of last year, the biggest increase in the hourly workforce cost was in the mining industry, 15.86 percent, energy production and supply, as well as IT and communication. Drops were recorded in education, 5.67 percent, public administration and cultural activities.
