How much is Romania’s country brand worth?

Romania’s brand has become more valuable in the last year ranking the country among the top 50 countries in terms of nation brand value.

Romania’s brand is currently valued at some USD 141 billion, ranking 48th out of 100 countries, according to this year’s edition of the Nation Brands study, published by brand valuation and strategy consultancy firm Brand Finance. The value is 11% higher compared to last year’s edition of the same study (USD 127 billion).

Romania ranks third in the Eastern European region, below Poland, which is 20th, with a brand value of USD 566 billion, and slightly lower than the Czech Republic, which is 42nd, with USD 187 billion. However, Romania’s brand is more valuable than those of other countries in the region, including Hungary – USD 94 billion (on 53rd), Greece – USD 60 billion (on 59th), and Bulgaria – 50 billion (on 64th).

Worldwide, Romania ranks behind Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Colombia, Iran, and Bangladesh, but ahead of Vietnam, Portugal, Kuwait, Peru, and Egypt.

The US has the most valuable country brand, worth some USD 19.7 trillion, followed by China, with USD 6.3 trillion, and Germany, with USD 4.2 trillion. The UK, Japan, France, and India come next while Canada, Italy and Australia complete the top 10.
