How much will a Romanian judge make according to the new wage law?

Romanian judges or a prosecutors could start their career with monthly salaries of almost RON 7,300 (EUR 1,650). They could reach salaries of up to RON 14,300 (EUR 3,200), if they have 20 years of experience, according to the new draft law on public administration salaries.

The judges of the High Court of Cassation and Justice, as well as prosecutors from institutions such as the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) and the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) would benefit from a bonus for risk and stress of up to 25%, and a bonus for confidentiality of up to 5% of the monthly salary, reports local Profit.ro.

The president of the High Court of Cassation and Justice as well as other magistrates with management positions will have a rate of increase of 2%.

The salaries for the auxiliary personnel in courts and prosecutors could start from RON 2,400 (EUR 543) and reach RON 5,170 (EUR 1,170).
