IBM Romania ups turnover 15%

US tech giant IBM’s local subsidiary posted a turnover of EUR 167.5 million last year, up 15% compared to 2014, according to financial data reported at the Ministry of Finance.

The company’s net profit rose by 23% to EUR 15 million whereas the average number of employees reached 2,172, up by 355 compared to 2014.

IBM Romania was among the most wanted employers in Romania last year, according to a study carried out by Inspire Group and Mercury Research.

IBM Romania is responsible for the group’s sales, marketing, and service operations in Romania and also includes service centers in Bucharest, Brasov, and Timisoara, which deliver technical and business solutions to local as well as international clients.

About 100,000 people were working in the IT&C industry in Romania last year.
