'If I want to whistle, I whistle', Romania's proposal for the Oscars
The Romanian feature film “If I Want To Whistle, I Whistle” by Romanian director Florin Serban is Romania’s proposal for the 2011 Academy Awards in the best foreign language film section. (trailer below) Last year, Romania proposed Corneliu Porumboiu's 'Policeman, adjective' for best film in a foreign language category. Florin Serban's first feature-length movie, 'If I Want To Whistle, I Whistle', got the jury prize Alfred-Bauer award for cinematic innovation in the 60th edition of the Berlinale. Oscar nominees will be announced on January 25, 2011. The 83rd edition of the U.S. Academy Awards will take place on February 27, 2011 at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles.
