Swedish furniture retailer IKEA will offer its employees in Romania, who have been working for over five years in the company, a contribution of RON 1,842 (EUR 409) to their pension fund.

The amount, however, is lower compared to the one offered in 2015. The measure is part of a loyalty program for employees called Tack!, developed by the company internationally. Only half of the Romanian employees qualify for this bonus.

IKEA Group will add another EUR 108 million to pension funds for employees worldwide. About half of IKEA’s employees in Romania, namely 246 people, will benefit from this.

In 2015, each IKEA Romania employee with five years seniority in the company received a contribution of RON 2,026 (EUR 450) to the pension fund.

IKEA Romania was also one of the first big local retailers that increased the minimum gross salary of its employees from RON 1,353 to RON 2,000, at the beginning of this year.
