Industrial activity in Romania records no growth in four months
Romania’s industrial activity in June was at a comparable level to May, marking four months since the industry has stopped growing.
The total industry production index dropped by 6 points, from 62 in March and 63 in April, to 59 in May and 56 in June, according to the Industrial Barometer study. The index stayed, however, above 50, which means that the industry’s evolution remains positive.
When the index falls below 50, contraction begins. The slight decreasing tendency in production volumes could be connected to temporary fluctuations in demand, according to the study.
The Industrial Barometer study is made by the market research company IRSOP and the Management Faculty of the National School of Political Science and Public Administration (SNSPA).
