Industrial production up by 3.9% in Romania
Romania’s industrial production went up by 3.9% year-on-year in October 2014, ranking 2nd among the EU members states, according to the EU statistical office (Eurostat).
The highest growth rates in industrial production among the EU member states in October were recorded in Ireland (38.8%), Romania and Slovenia (both with 3.9%), while the average growth rate in the EU was 0.8%.
The industrial production growth in the EU was driven by the increase in the production of consumer goods (2.8%), hard goods (1.8%), capital goods (1.7%) and intermediate goods (0.1%). The energy industry went down by 2.0%, according to Eurostat.
