International roaming fees disappear starting June 15
Roaming fees for Romanian mobile services users who travel abroad will disappear starting June 15 this year.
This means that anyone who has a telecom subscription or uses a pre-paid card with a Romanian number can use the mobile services when going abroad at the same costs as in the country.
The roaming fees will also be eliminated for EU citizens travelling to Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.
According to Romania’s telecom market regulator – ANCOM, the roaming minutes and text messages will be deducted from national minutes and text messages. The same goes for Internet services.
Those who finish the mobile data traffic included in their contract can still use the service for EUR 7.7 per GB. Telecom groups can define “reasonable policies “for the users of this service.
Romania and Israel will negotiate cutting roaming tariffs
