International rowing boats festival in Romania's Danube Delta this weekend
The sixth edition of Rowmania Fest – the International Rowing Boats Festival kicked off today, August 26, in Tulcea, and will end on August 28.
Besides promoting outdoor movement, the event initiated by famous Romanian rower Ivan Patzaichin also wants to increase the Danube Delta’s visibility as a destination for ecotourism.
Rowmania Fest’s program includes rowing competitions, triathlon, concerts performed by bands from Romania, Republic of Moldova, and Hungary, a living statues show, documentary films about the Danube, a fair, and a photo exhibition.
Some of the bands that will entertain the festival’s public are SuperChill, Roman Iagupov & Radu Captari, Zdob si Zdub, Dour bones Quartet, Taxi, and Urma. The participants can also enjoy the screening of Vad Szigetköz - The Inland Delta of the River Danube documentary, or Illegitim – the latest film from Romanian director Adrian Sitaru.
