The grants paid so far for investments projects and direct payments in agriculture have exceeded EUR 6.51 billion, representing an absorption rate of about 73%, according to David Eugen Popescu, general manager of the Agency for Rural Investment Funding AFIR.

“Payments to beneficiaries, the main indicator and the measure of the program’s performance, they’ve reached EUR 6.51 billion in October, or a 73% absorption of European funds. We are by far the best placed European funding program in Romania,” said Popescu, cited by local Capital.ro.
