Israeli company could offer support on irrigation project in Romania

22 October 2015

Mekorot, the national Water Company in Israel, could assist Romania in developing the Siret-Baragan channel, a strategic project for the irrigation of Romania’s most fertile agricultural area.

When the channel is completed, it will irrigate about 700,000 sqm of farmland.

Romania’s Environment Ministry will remake the feasibility study on the channel project, and it could benefit from the expertise of Israel’s Water Company.

The collaboration idea was brought up during a meeting between the Romanian Environment Minister Gratiela Gavrilescu and the Israeli Environment Minister Avi Gabbay.
