Italian Enel names new GM for energy subsidiaries in Romania
Italian group Enel has appointed Michele Grassi general director with Enel Energie and Enel Energie Muntenia, the group’s two energy suppliers in Romania.
Grassi, who has a 17-year experience in the electricity sector, has been mostly active in the customer care and supply area within the Italian group.
He started as Key Account Manager for the free market, became Customer Service Manager for Southern Italy. Before joining the Romania divisions, he led the Enel.Si team, a franchise-specialized company within the Enel group in Italy.
In February, the company announced that it had decided to freeze the sale of its energy distribution and supply businesses in Romania. The company wanted to sell its assets in Romania as part of a larger program to raise EUR 4 billion by the end of 2014.
In November last year, Italian Matteo Cassani, general manager of Enel Energie and Enel Energie Muntenia, threw himself off the company’s headquarters in Bucharest.
