Jane Birkin to bring Serge Gainsbourg’s songs to Romania this fall
The music and film legend Jane Birkin will perform for the first time in Romania on November 13 this year, at Sala Palatului in Bucharest, during a show that includes some of the most famous songs of Serge Gainsbourg.
Jane Birkin attracted public attention and criticism with the role in "Blow-Up", directed by Michelangelo Antonioni, a film that received the grand prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 1967.
Composer, singer, actor and director, Serge Gainsbourg is considered one of the most influential musicians of the world, with more than 30 albums, and more than 20 successful singles and soundtracks for over 40 films. In 1969, Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg released "Je t'aime ... moi non plus", a very controversial song.
After the death of Serge Gainsbourg, Jane decided to give up her musical career for several years. She returned in 1998 with the material "A la legere".
