Japanese group doubles staff in R&D center in Romania

04 May 2017

Japanese producer Yazaki Component Technology, active in the automotive sector, plans to hire 100 engineers for its research & development (R&D) center in Timisoara, Western Romania, reports local Ziarul Financiar.

Yazaki is looking for engineers in areas such as software, electronics or mechanics, who will join a team of more than 100 employees. The company has decided to increase the team after relocating to bigger headquarters in the north of Timisoara, said Alexandru Stoica, the company’s branch manager.

Timisoara is home to other companies active in the automotive sector, so it’s a challenge for the Japanese producer to recruit engineers. The Timis county has attracted giants such as Continental, Delphi Packard, TRW Automotive and Hella.

Yazaki has also launched an internship program for students and graduates in Timisoara.
