Jazz bands from 20 countries come to Bucharest’s EUROPAfest competition this May
EUROPAfest - Bucharest International Jazz Competition, ranked by BBC as one of the top 3 jazz contests of Europe, will return with a new edition between May 13 and May 20.
The event will celebrate an anniversary edition this year, with 22 jazz bands from 20 countries competing in the semifinal. The artists will come to Bucharest from countries such as Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Nepal, The Netherlands, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, UK, and the US.

EUROPAfest, the only European festival reuniting 4 musical genres – jazz, blues, pop, and classic, will take place between May 11 and May 20. The event will bring together more than 300 artists from 45 countries. Besides Bucharest International Jazz Competition, the agenda also includes the Opening Gala Concert – Bucharest and Sibiu, concerts of jazz, blues, pop and classical music, the Jeunesses International Flute Competition Dinu Lipatti, master-classes and workshops, the Caffe Festival, Festival’s corner, and EUROPAfest Gala.
