The ninth edition of Bucharest International Jazz Competition, organized under the EUROPAfest brand, will bring 15 jazz bands from 4 continents to Romania’s capital this May.

Organized under the motto “100% jazz and more,” the event gathers artists from Australia, Austria, Canada, South Korea, Estonia, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Russia, Spain, USA, and UK.

This year, the event will be organized between May 16 and May 23 in several places in Bucharest, including Excelsior Theatre, Odeon Theatre and Ibis Cafe.

Organizers promise a week full of jazz, concerts, workshops and jam sessions, when the public will discover the American jazz next to the European, Australian and South-Korean ones.

BBC ranked the Bucharest International Jazz Competition as one of the first 3 jazz contests from Europe.
