Jordan and Tunisia want to import vegetable oil from Romania

Romania has received vegetable oil and oleaginous products import requests from several countries, among which Jordan and Tunisia, according to Valeriu Tabara, the Romanian Agriculture Minister, quoted by Mediafax newswire.   The Agriculture Ministry will try to put those who want to import oil in contact with the Romanian firms which offer long-term contracts. Tabara said an economic mission will go to Jordan, which wants to import from Romania a significant quantity of vegetable oil. He said the price of sunflower oil is about EUR 350 per ton.

Last year, the price of oil sold on the local market rose by 21 percent.
