Julius Meinl is expanding its Romanian chocolate maker Kandia
The largest Romanian chocolate manufacturer Kandia Dulce, owned by Austrian group Julius Meinl, has initiated the procedures to increase by about 30% the production capacity of its factory in Bucharest and double the storage capacity.
The factory owner aims to increase the area of the production facility by about 2,400 square meters, to about 7,200 square meters, and the area of the storage hall by about 970 square meters, to about 1,700 square meters.
The current production capacity, calculated by Profit.ro on the current structure of products, is 15,275 tonnes per year. The proposed expansion is expected to increase production capacity by 4,525 tonnes per year, with a final capacity of 19,800 tonnes per year.
The factory produces moulded or extruded tablets, bars, chocolate pralines and compounds, pastries and caramels.
