Kaufland Romania will coordinate group’s expansion to Moldova
German retailer Kaufland plans to enter the Republic of Moldova, by opening a store in its capital Chisinau in two years. The group’s division in Romania will directly coordinate the expansion.
Kaufland Romania celebrates this year ten years since entering the Romanian market. The retailer opened its first store in the country in 2005, and it currently has a network of over 100 retail units, two logistics centers and over 15,000 employees. Kaufland is now the biggest retailer in Romania, with a EUR 1.8 billion turnover in 2014.
Kaufland is one the biggest retailers in Europe, with over 1,100 stores in seven countries, including Germany, Poland or Bulgaria.
