KFC Romania expects EUR 700,000 turnover from first restaurant in Maramures
Fast food operator KFC will open his first restaurant in Baia Mare, Romania, on March 7, 2013, the company has announced. The operator hopes the new fast food joint, which has a total area of 171 sqm, will bring a turnover of EUR 700,000 in the first year of activity.
This is the 49th KFC restaurant in Romania and the first in the country’s Maramures area, according to Monica Eftimie, Marketing Manager KFC. “This restaurant’s opening is part of the KFC’s expansion strategy in Romania and we want to continue this growth trend in the following period,” added Monica Eftimie. The new unit is located in the Gold Plaza shopping center in Baia Mare and will have a total of 25 employees.
KFC opened its first drive-thru restaurant in Bucharest in November last year, following an investment of EUR 700,000. The operator expects the restaurant to bring a turnover of EUR 1.2 million in the first year.
The KFC franchise in Romania has been operated by US Food Network SA since 1997, when the first fast food restaurant was opened in Bucharest.
