KFC wants to open at least five restaurants, reach 3,300 employees in Romania
Fast-food chain KFC wants to open at least five restaurants this year and reach a number of 3,300 employees in Romania.
The network currently has 63 restaurants in the local market.
“We have ambitious plans for network development over the next period,” said Mark Hilton, franchise business consultant at KFC Romania, cited by local Ziarul Financiar.
KFC recorded a turnover of RON 320 million (EUR 70.6 million) in 2015.
The first KFC unit in Romania was opened in April 1997 on the Magheru Boulevard. The network recently opened a new restaurant in Piatra Neamt.
Earlier this month, KFC has opened its first Coffee Corner within its unit at Unirea Shopping Center Bucuresti.
Romanian investor Radu Dimofte and his business partner Gabriel Popoviciu are the investors who brought the Pizza Hut and KFC franchises to Romania. At the beginning of last year, Dimofte bought new shares worth EUR 31.7 million in the companies that own the local franchises for Pizza Hut, KFC, Paul, Hard Rock Café, and Cinnabon.
