Kingfisher gets closer to buying competitor Mr. Bricolage, Romania included

British group Kingfisher, one of the largest do-it-yourself (DYI) retail groups in Europe, is close to finalizing the takeover of French rival Mr. Bricolage.
The group is now waiting for the approval from competition authorities. Both groups have operations in Romania. Kingfisher took over the Bricostore network from French group Bresson, in early 2013.
It has 15 stores and already modernized some of them under the Brico Depot brand. Mr. Bricolage has three stores in Romania, one in Bucharest, on in Ploiesti and the third in Iasi.
