Labor cost in Romania up 17.8% in Q3
The labor cost in Romania, an indicator of the wage burden for employers, increased by 17.8% in the third quarter of this year, in gross terms, compared to the same period last year.
The highest increases were seen in entertainment and cultural activities (38.7%), healthcare and public assistance (32.4%), education (30.9%) and public administration (29.5%), according to the National Statistics Institute (INS).
The labor cost went up by 20% in the second quarter of this year compared to the same period last year. Compared to the previous quarter, the labor cost rose by 3.7% in the third quarter, after a quarterly advance of 7.9% in the second quarter, and 0.96% in the first quarter.
