A life-size replica of Hatzegopteryx, the largest flying dinosaur of all time, discovered on Romanian territory, can now bee seen at the Dino Parc in Rasnov, central Romania.

Moreover, the visitors can also see a nest with ten real dinosaur eggs, discovered in Tustea, Hunedoara county. The new exhibition was opened on August 31.

Romanian professor Dan Grigorescu discovered the Hatzegopteryx thambema dinosaur in 1978, in the Hateg area. The flying dinosaur lived about 68 million years ago, at the end of the Cretaceous. He had a wingspan of 12 meters and a skull that measured about 3 meters.

“Hatzegopteryx is the most important exhibit at Dino Parc Rasnov. We are glad that all our visitors will have the chance to see the full-scale reproduction of a unique discovery in the world, and that this discovery was made in Tara Hategului,” said Adrian Apostu, manager Dino Parc Rasnov.

Dino Parc, the only dinosaur park in Romania, was opened last summer. According to Adrian Apostu, some 500,000 people have visited the park in one year.
