Largest life insurer in Romania grants EUR 3 mln worth of dividends
NN Asigurari de Viata, the biggest life insurer in Romania, has proposed to pay dividends worth EUR 2.8 million from the last year’s profit to its shareholders.
The company saw a profit of EUR 4.1 million in 2015, down 29% compared to 2014. This was due to the costs related to its rebranding from ING to NN, according to the company.
NN Asigurari de Viata granted total dividends of about EUR 61.6 million between 2005 and 2014, reports local Profit.ro. The company’s profits were entirely collected by its majority shareholder NN Continental Europe Holdings BV.
The insurer entered the local market in January 1997 under the name Nederlanden Asigurări de Viata. It made its first profit on the local market in 2005. The highest dividends were granted in 2009, when the insurer’s net profit totaled EUR 17.2 million.
NN Asigurari de Viata has a share of 37.4% on the local life insurance market.
