The certification as international airport is part of requirements for Schengen accession and allows fights to non-Schengen states.

The ministry will sign collaboration protocols with the public institutions which file requests to enroll in the system. The technical platform was made by the ministry through the National Center of Information Society Mangement and the 'Romania Digitala' National Center.
