Statues come to life at special festival in Bucharest this June

07 June 2016

A new edition of the Living Statues Festival will take place at the Filipescu-Cesianu House in Bucharest, as well as in the capital’s Crangasi and Alexandru Ioan Cuza parks between June 16 and June 20.

The festival will bring together more than 40 living statues presented for the first time by Masca Theater, as well as 20 foreign guests from the Netherlands, USA, Israel, Macedonia, Germany, Great Britain, Portugal, and Russia.

The event will also honor famous Romanian sculpture Constantin Brancusi, especially as 2016 is the Brancusi Year. The organizers will bring the sculptor to public attention through two living statues: one of them will represent Brancusi at his workshop in Paris, and the other one will represent The Prayer (Rugaciune), one of the sculptor’s most famous works.

Masca Theater is the organizer of the event. The public will have free access to the festival.
