Loans for individuals and companies go up by 0.7% in Romania

Total household and corporate loans in Romania increased by 0.7% in August compared to the previous month, to EUR 48.3 billion, as the lei-denominated loans went up and those in foreign currency decreased.

The non-government credit increased by 0.2% in August this year compared to August 2014, which is the first year-on-year increase since February 2013. The government loans went up by 1.3% in August compared to July, and by 7.7% compared to August last year, to EUR 19.6 billion.

Deposits of non-government resident customers went up in August by 0.9% compared to July, to EUR 52.2 billion, as companies saved more money. The year-on-year increase in deposits was 7.4%.
