Local furniture producer opens large store in Bucharest
Casa Rusu, the retail division of local furniture producer Rus Savitar, controlled by Romanian investor Cristian Rusu, inaugurated the network’s largest store in Bucharest under the Super Store concept, following an investment of EUR 1.5 million.
The company used the money to modernize and expand an existing store, located in the Vitantis shopping center. The unit was opened in 2010, covering a surface of 3,000 sqm. The store will now cover 6,000 sqm. A third of the space is dedicated to home & decor products.
The store’s turnover will reach EUR 3 million by the end of the year, said Cristian Rusu.
Casa Rusu has a network of 30 stores, of which 12 are in franchise and the rest are its own stores. By the end of 2017, the company wants to open other three new large stores in Timisoara, Brasov, and Cluj-Napoca.
The consolidated business of the Rus Stavitar - Casa Rusu group went up by 27% last year, to EUR 47.3 million, as the group invested EUR 8 million in two new logistic centers and in new production lines at its factory in Timis county. For this year, the group expects a 20% increase in business, to over EUR 51 million.
