French retailer Carrefour is preparing to launch its Supeco store concept in Romania, and the retailer is currently hiring managers for stores in Giurgiu, Ramnicu Valcea and Targoviste.

According to the hiring announcement quoted by local Mediafax, Supeco is a new store concept with low prices, with a focus on fresh products and consumer goods, with a sales area of up to 2,000 sqm.

Carrefour launched this concept last year in Spain.

Carrefour Romania runs over 160 units in Romania, including hypermarkets, supermarkets and neighborhood shops.

The retailer saw its sales in Romania at EUR 1 billion in 2013, up 2 percent on the year before, and back to the level it posted in 2008, its peak year in the country.
