Local media: P&G considers new investments in Romania
Consumer goods giant Procter&Gamble has purchased a 25-hectare plot in Urlati, Romania, where its shampoo plant is located, and might invest in a warehouse and a new factory.
According to the local media, the vice-chairman of the American group, Patricia Woertz, is expected to visit Romania this week.
“They’ve purchased the land last autumn with over EUR 3 million. They want to build a deposit and another factory there,” sources from the local administration told Mediafax, quoted by Wall-street.ro.
However, representatives of the company didn’t comment the information.
Procter&Gamble opened a factory in Urlati, Prahova county, in 2010, following a USD 100 million investment. The factory has four production lines, and 90 percent of its production is exported.
Procter&Gamble recorded sales of over USD 84 billion last year, up from the year before.
