Local media: Vodafone to move HQ to Bucharest One building

Telecom company Vodafone Romania will move next year its headquarters in Romania’s capital in the new Bucharest One office tower to be developed by Greek businessman Ioannis Papalekas.

Sources from the telecom and real estate markets told local daily Ziarul Financiar that Vodafone and Papalekas reached an agreement for the lease of a total area of some 16,000 in the tower to be located in northern Bucharest.

Works on the project are ready to start and the office tower is to be completed in the third quarter of next year. Vodafone is currently headquartered in Charles de Gaulle Plaza in Bucharest.

Vodafone Romania posted service revenues of EUR 177 million in the last quarter of 2013, a growth of 0.4 percent on the same period of 2012, while revenues from mobile data went up by 22.3 percent.

End – 2013, Vodafone had 8.3 million clients – counted as active SIM cards-, a growth of 132,000 clients compared to the third quarter of the same year.
