Logistics operator Ekol invests EUR 8 million in 100 MAN trucks at Romanian hub
Turkish logistics operator Ekol Logistics has invested EUR 8 million in buying 100 MAN trucks, which have already been delivered to the Romanian subsidiary. The investment will develop the company's trade in Romania, as well as across Europe.
Ekol Romania ended 2012 with a turnover of EUR 3.6 million, and hopes to exceed EUR 10 million in 2013, following the new investment. The Turkish company has over 6,000 sqm of warehouses in Romania, and over 80 percent of the space is currently occupied, according to Frank Körber, international director of Ekol Logistics.
With 50 employees in Romania already, Ekol plans to hire 100 more truck drivers for the recently bought trucks .
The company operates in Turkey, Germany, Italy, Ukraine, Greece and Romania. Its global turnover was of EUR 285 million in 2012, a rise of 30 percent on 2011. It has a total of 4,000 employees in Turkey and 1,200 in seven European countries.
